My view of the role of the Utah Attorney General is simple: enforce the law. The concept of Utah's Top Cop has been tainted by recent events, to the detriment of the Rule of Law in this great State. The role of the AG is to lead by example in strict adherence to the laws the office has been charged with enforcing, and among licensed attorneys, to set an equally important example in the execution of the duties of the office in a manner that is ethically beyond reproach.

As an Attorney, I have represented police officers, and the cities that employ them. I have represented criminal defendants, and DOPL licensees. I have stood up to corruption and demanded its abatement within law enforcement.

As a Law Enforcement Officer, I have made arrests and witnessed the direct impact of law enforcement where it counts the most - in the homes and on the streets of Utah's cities.

It is time for Utah's Top Cop to actually be a Cop.
